The story of Black Clover has kept all fans hooked for years since its debut in 2015. Sadly, in 2026, the story officially concluded with Yuki Tabata dropping Black Clover Chapter 392 in Jump GIGA’s Spring Issue. The final chapter of Black Clover brought an end to the brilliant story crafted by the author as a whole, but also to the character arcs of many of its key figures.
At the end of Black Clover, Asta became Wizard King, while Yami went on to fully retire, leaving the Black Bulls without a true lead. With their two most overpowered members out, there is no doubt about who the new strongest Black Bull member is, and fans know it to be Noelle Silva, a powerful mage who stands out in her own way. At the end of the story, Noelle is the new strongest Black Bull, and she achieved this despite not being its Captain. We hope to see more of her in the upcoming August 4 release of Black Clover, featuring a new volume and guidebook.
The Black Bulls Officially Lose Their Two Strongest Members At The End Of The Series In Chapter 392
Yuji Tabata’s Black Clover revolves around Grimoires and magic. The author quickly built up the Clover Kingdom in the first few chapters of the story, and in Black Clover Chapter 2, we were officially introduced to the concept of Magic Knight Squads. In the Clover Kingdom, there are 9 of these squads, and among them, we followed the journey of the Black Bulls the most ardently.
In chapter 2 of Black Clover, Asta, our main lead, and Noelle, our main heroine, went on to be chosen by Yami to join the squad. At first, the Black Bulls were constantly ridiculed with their odd members, each with their own curious personality and rather subpar powers. It was clear to see that they were not as prestigious as the likes of the Golden Dawn, led by William. That said, it was quickly made clear that, power-wise, they were the strongest and the squad with the most potential of all.
The leader of the Black Bulls, Yami, is a force to be reckoned with. Yuki Tabata made it quite clear throughout the many arcs of the story that Yami was the strongest Captain Knight of his generation, surpassing the likes of William from the Golden Squad, who held World Tree Magic, and Dorothy from the Coral Peacock Squad with her Dream Magic. Yami’s contribution to this story cannot be understated, and he was instrumental in many ways.
Then there is also Asta. While he didn’t start as the strongest, by the end of the story, he dominated the Black Bulls and the Clover Kingdom as the official strongest character. Asta is special and certainly not your typical Magic Knight. He was born with no mana due to his mother Richita’s condition, and because of that, he can wield the Devilish 5 Clover Grimoire, which grants him the power of Anti-Magic.
Anti-Magic is an ability that stands out remarkably and allows Asta to counter mana-based abilities, making him an unstoppable fighter. Combined with his superhuman physical strength, Asta went on to even receive the title of Wizard King by the end of the story after defeating Yuno in Chapter 391. Because Asta is the Wizard King, he cannot be a part of the Black Bulls anymore, which led to him retiring from the group and fulfilling his duties to the Kingdom. Yami also retired from his position as the Black Bulls’ Captain in chapter 391. That is because he officially got married to Charlotte and wished to return to his homeland. Evidently, the Black Bulls have lost significant power, but they still have their own impressive members. With both Asta and Yami out of the picture, we now have a new official strongest Black Bull, and that’s Noelle
Noelle Is Officially Confirmed As The New Strongest Black Bull In Black Clover
In the final batch of Black Clover chapters, which was released on May 1, 2026, in Jump GIGA’s Spring Edition, it was officially confirmed that the two strongest Black Bulls, Asta and Yami, are leaving. This left a major power vacuum, but also presented a chance for a new Black Bull to rise to the occasion.
At the end of Black Clover Chapter 392, the unequivocally strongest member is Noelle Silva, the main heroine of the story who stayed behind to fight with the group moving forward. Noelle Silva was first introduced to us in Black Clover Chapter 4, which was released on March 9, 2025, in WSJ Issue #15. Alongside Asta and Yuno, she is one of the main characters of the story who played an instrumental role in every Black Clover arc. Compared to Asta and Yuno, Noelle is definitely not as strong, but she’s still a powerhouse and a force to be reckoned with.
At the end of Black Clover, Noelle should be around the same level as Yami in terms of strength. The two could have competed for the strongest Black Bull member at the end, but with Yami out, it goes without saying that she is the strongest. Noelle is as strong as she is due to her Water Magic, as well as her massive mana reserves stemming from one of the most noble families of the Clover Kingdom — the Silva Family. Noelle has shown her might in multiple arcs of the story, and she also played a significant role in the taking down of Lucius in the final battle.
Her water Magic was boosted significantly when she first acquired the Water Spirit Undine, and then reached new highs when she made a contract with the Sea God Leviathan. Her Valkyrie Dress is her strongest transformation and grants her greater speed and power output, allowing her to dish out some powerful attacks. It must be said, however, that even though Noelle is officially the new strongest Black Bull, she is not their Captain. After Yami’s retirement, Nacht was made the new Black Bull Captain, as he had held the title of Vice-Captain beforehand. Nacht is definitely strong, but he isn’t stronger than Noelle. Even other relevant Black Bull members like Vanessa or Charmy can’t compete with her power.
Noelle’s End of Story Role And Future In Black Clover
We were all deeply excited to see the final batch of Black Clover chapters, as they went on to unveil to us the fate of our main trio. For Asta, we know he went on to become the Wizard King after winning his fate-altering battle against Yuno in Chapter 391. Yuno, meanwhile, didn’t achieve his dream of becoming the Wizard King, but he still gained a prestigious position by becoming the new leader of the Golden Dawn Squad. Yuno even travels between the Clover and Spade Kingdoms, holding power comparable to that of the Wizard King.
Out of the three, Noelle got the short end of the stick. While we see her reconnect with her siblings after their rough childhood and past relationship, Noelle’s character arc does not get a satisfying conclusion. Her final moments see her end in a love competition with her cousin Mimosa from the Golden Dawn to win over Asta’s heart. By the end, Noelle isn’t even given any prestigious position, such as the title of the Black Bull Captain, despite her strength.
Noelle: That guy’s already settled in as the Wizard King.
Mimosa: It’s really reassuring.
Noelle: By the way, it sounds like Lolopechka and Gaja officially got married.
Mimosa: Oh, that’s wonderful. I also hear Lady Mereleona is being courted in the land of the Sun.
Noelle: By who exactly?! I was waiting until his work as Wizard King calmed down, but… Our fight begins now, Mimosa!

With that being said, Yuki Tabata has one final chance at improving upon the ending of Noelle Silva. As we all know, Black Clover is officially returning on August 4, 2026, with the release of Volume 38, as well as a new guidebook, which will feature a 15-page-long chapter. While we know this chapter will be about Asta’s coronation, we are sure he will drop some more information about other characters along the way. Noelle’s position could have improved since then, and, at the very least, we might get a romantic conclusion for her and Asta in this upcoming chapter. We should also receive new information about her and her powers through the guidebook character sheets.
