Jujutsu Kaisen is one of the biggest modern shonen series, with tons of exciting elements to it, but if there’s one thing it excels at, it’s battles. JJK has come to be known for delivering some of the most incredible fights in all of Shonen, and its new sequel, Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, has not disappointed at all so far either. Fans have already seen some minor battles in the last few chapters, and they have already shown the potential of this series.

While it’s still too early to say anything conclusive about Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, the signs are incredibly good, and if this is the start, then Gege will only reach higher heights later down the line. In fact, Gege Akutami recently set up one big battle in JJK Modulo, and it’s a rematch between the old protagonist of the series, Yuji Itadori, and a very iconic villain, Mahito. Mahito vs Yuji was an insanely emotionally charged fight in the original series during Shibuya, and it might be happening again in Modulo as both of them make a comeback, stronger than ever.

Jujutsu Kaisen has given the fans quite a few memorable battles over the years, and Mahito Vs Yuji is probably up there with the best. Mahito and Yuji are two characters with quite the history in Jujutsu Kaisen, and they have clashed ok multiple occasions. Their first clash was in the first season after Mahito killed Junpei, but it wasn’t their last.

Their real and decisive battle came during the Shibuya Incident arc. After Nobara and Nanami went down, a huge battle broke out between Yuji Itadori and Mahito, and it is safe to say that Gege delivered. Of course, Yuji didn’t win it on his own. He had the help of Todo, and with that, they both ended up victorious. They didn’t, however, manage to exactly kill Mahito. Instead, he was absorbed by Kenjaku and presumed dead afterward.

Now, over 68 years later, Mahito might be making a return. In his dream, Tsurugi saw Mahito for the first time. Based on the looks of it, Mahito is in a place between life and death, waiting to meet Yuji. Mahito will surely be given some highlight, one way or another, be it in a battle in limbo or reincarnation. Given that Mahito is looking for none other than Yuji Itadori, the man who defeated him, their confrontation is a given.

Mahito looking for his sworn enemy Yuji confirms the fate of the latter. Yuji Itadori is officially alive and will also make a return in JJK Modulo. When these two characters come face to face again, a rematch will ensue. This time, Yuji will likely take on Mahito in a 1vs1 battle, and fans absolutely cannot wait.

With the huge possibility of both Yuji and Mahito returning, fans wonder when their confrontation will happen in the Modulo story. For now, only Gege really knows when that will happen, but it could be soon.

The new JJK protagonists are in dire need of a mentor figure to guide and help them through this ordeal, and Yuji is the perfect fit for this. Yuji, right now, would be over 80, but seeing as he is no normal human, he might’ve aged slowly, and could actually be at his peak power at the moment. Both Yuji and Mahito might return with a huge buff.

The Jujutsu Kaisen manga ended in late 2024, but it can be read online for free. It is available to access on Manga Plus where this series used to be serialized weekly.
