Some Zords required a pilot, while others were completely autonomous and had multiple forms…

7 Scariest Horror Movies John Carpenter Wants You to Watch

When it comes to the great horror directors, few are more celebrated, influential, and iconic than John Carpenter. Not content with being the creator of the never-ending Halloween franchise, Carpenter is also responsible for one of the finest horror remakes of all time in 1982’s The Thing, as well as numerous other cult favorites across his long, successful career. This includes the Stephen King adaptation Christine, satirical sci-fi horror They Live, and Lovecraftian love letter In the Mouth of Madness. Carpenter’s status as a bona fide horror master means that — much like the aforementioned King — he can be…

The Power Rangers franchise has never been short on villains. Ocarina of Time Remake and Fable Are Solving the Same Problem in Completely Different Ways

As someone who considers The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time one of his all-time favorite games and has been playing Fable since the original launched, I’m admittedly an easy sell on both of their upcoming returns. There is an important distinction between them, though. Ocarina of Time is a remake, whereas Playground Games’ Fable is a reboot. Nintendo is rebuilding one specific game that has existed since 1998, while Playground has deliberately stepped away from the original Fable trilogy’s timeline and given itself room to start over. I’m actually more interested in where those approaches eventually reach their limits,…

Control Resonant Does Blood of Dawnwalker’s Best Traversal Mechanic Even Better

I don’t really need to shout my opinions about The Blood of Dawnwalker from the rooftops or anything, as I’ve already done that and had plenty of rooftops shouting back at me. While I did actually quite enjoy the game, despite what some might think my score suggests, I nonetheless found many of its design choices fundamentally flawed and worth critiquing. Thus, my score wasn’t about whether I liked The Blood of Dawnwalker or even had fun playing it, because I did. Rather, it was about a game that I feel fell short of its potential because the goals it…

Ocarina of Time Remake Seem to Have Their Labels Backward

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Remastered and The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake are both bringing back two of the most beloved games of all time, but I’ve found myself increasingly confused by what we’re supposed to call them. Obviously, I know one is a remaster and the other is a remake, and there are technical reasons why those labels make sense. But the more I’ve seen of both games, the more I can’t help feeling like their labels are almost backward. Ocarina of Time is being rebuilt from the ground up for Switch 2, whereas The…
