Fans have been champing at the bit for news on Hogwarts Legacy 2, with recent weeks and months providing the headwind necessary to fan the flames of every rumor and leak. Now, it seems everything is coming together for an announcement on June 2, and the compiling evidence for this Hogwarts Legacy 2 announcement is hard to ignore.
The first question is when and where, and fans now have an answer. Sony has announced a State of Play for June 2, kicking off the show with Marvel’s Wolverine, but having plenty of new game reveals, announcements, and such across an hour showcase. It begins at 2 pm PT/5 pm ET, and it would not be surprising to see this game take up the coveted “one last thing” slot in gaming presentations. What’s more, this isn’t just pure speculation—the line from Hogwarts Legacy 2 at A to State of Play at B is pretty straightforward.
Hogwarts Legacy 2 Release Window Possibly Hinted by WB Games

Why A Hogwarts Legacy 2 Reveal Happening on June 2 Just Makes Sense
First, the reveal of Hogwarts Legacy took place at a PlayStation event. While some rumors claim it was a State of Play, it was actually a PlayStation Showcase, but the branding and use of the latter have largely fallen to the wayside since that reveal. State of Plays now are basically what PlayStation Showcases used to be, although there are two types of State of Plays now. The first are the shorter or focused events, the second are the rarer and larger events. Because this State of Play for June is one hour, focused on Marvel’s Wolverine‘s release and beyond, it is clearly being positioned as PlayStation’s Big Summer Event (trademarked). Just as Hogwarts Legacy 1 was revealed at The Big Summer Event, this is being positioned similarly. That does not take into account another Big Summer Event 2 taking place later this year, but given the movement of other bits of evidence, that does feel less likely.

Furthermore, the rumor mill has already been on this point. Many folks have claimed Hogwarts Legacy 2 would be revealed at the next State of Play event, with a 50/50 leaker with a spotty track record Tidux even getting out a vague “SOP – HL2 soon” tweet just before the reveal of this event. That doesn’t mean Tidux has insider info, although they may, but it means they know how to read the room like others. PlayStation needed a summer event; now it has one. That summer event lines up for Hogwarts Legacy 2, and that still holds.
Avalanche May Be Ramping Up for a Hogwarts Legacy 2 Reveal
The next question becomes: okay, if we accept that a State of Play makes sense for a Hogwarts Legacy 2 reveal, why does it feel like the Hogwarts Legacy 2 reveal was soon? To get even more to the basics, Hogwarts Legacy 2 is definitely happening after the massive sales of Hogwarts Legacy. Warner Bros has also been making sure fans remain aware of it with a little motion here and there, like recently ensuring that Hogwarts Legacy was 100% free to claim via a limited-time deal for anyone who has yet to play it.
Bigger than that, arguably, is the movement and hiring patterns at Avalanche Software. Live Ops hire differently than rank-and-file devs, in some cases, and Avalanche recently hired a community manager for the Hogwarts Legacy community. Hogwarts Legacy 1 was revealed shortly after a community manager was hired for it back in 2020, so this could just be history repeating. After all, there have been plenty of Avalanche Software job posts before then, obviously hiring for Hogwarts Legacy 2 devs, and all the patterns make sense.

Yes, there’s zero hard evidence that Hogwarts Legacy 2 will happen at this State of Play; however, there’s plenty of evidence to connect two key facts. Yes, Hogwarts Legacy 2 is most likely in development and has been for years. Yes, a major event makes sense for its reveal, and State of Play makes more sense over Summer Game Fest or the Xbox Games Showcase because of history. Those two are facts that are easily connected. Yes, everyone should manage hype and be skeptical of any claims, including this one, but everything makes perfect sense for a Hogwarts Legacy 2 reveal at the upcoming State of Play event. Excitement mixed with caution is the energy every fan of the Harry Potter RPG should have, but they need to manage expectations.
In short, there’s a strong industry expectation that Hogwarts Legacy 2 is in active development and will be revealed at some point in the not-too-distant future. There’s a plausible window around the State of Play, and the movement around the two at the same time makes perfect sense. There’s nothing to confirm that this announcement is incoming, but it feels like it’s in the air.

A Private Blog Network (PBN) is a collection of websites that are controlled by a single individual or organization and used primarily to build backlinks to a “money site” in order to influence its ranking in search engines such as Google. The core idea behind a PBN is based on the importance of backlinks in Google’s ranking algorithm. Since Google views backlinks as signals of authority and trust, some website owners attempt to artificially create these signals through a controlled network of sites.
In a typical PBN setup, the owner acquires expired or aged domains that already have existing authority, backlinks, and history. These domains are rebuilt with new content and hosted separately, often using different IP addresses, hosting providers, themes, and ownership details to make them appear unrelated. Within the content published on these sites, links are strategically placed that point to the main website the owner wants to rank higher.
