For the past several updates, the Grow a Garden devs have shifted how they introduce content to players. Instead of rolling out a brand-new event each week like the Easter Event or Angry Plant Event, they’re now focusing on events that build on each other across two weeks.

Following that pattern, Grow a Garden brought in the Corrupted Event, which simply extends the Zen Event’s rewards and content while presenting its own lineup of crops, pets, mutations, and more. The Corrupted Event is set to end on August 2, wrapping up all Zen- and Corrupted-related stuff. This guide breaks down what’s new for you to snag, along with a quick overview of the Corrupted Event in Grow a Garden.

Travis Kelce’s Celebrity Guest Event

Before the Corrupted Event update even started, the dev Jandel hosted a 20-minute-long celebrity event revolving around the football champ Travis Kelce, where the famous Jandel Monkey avatar, along with Travis’s new avatar, made an entry to all public and private servers, turning them into stadiums for a short time.

To make it more fun, the two chatted a bit about football, life, and GaG, then hit admin abuse, where all players got included in new weather events and could snag valuable variants, including the new best Touchdown (125x multiplier). Gear and seed shops were also restocked with rare items popping up many times, like Master Sprinklers, Sugar Apples, Beanstalks, Burning Buds, and Cacaos.

Corrupt Channeller’s Quest

After the update, a new NPC, the Corrupt Channeller, appeared at the event platform. Players can take on quests and earn rewards by giving him Tranquil fruits, but there’s a catch: he only accepts fruits that meet specific weight requirements, so you’ll need to grow the right ones and make sure they’re mutated before handing them over.

Occasionally, he’ll also ask for Sheckles instead. Each fruit or payment earns you one random reward from his rotating prize pool, which refreshes every hour. There’s no limit, so you can keep giving as much as you like for more rewards.

Kitsune Chest

The Kitsune statue, now located between both Channellers, is more than just a pretty display; it now lets you earn Kitsune Chests by submitting 10 fruits: 5 Tranquil and 5 Corrupted.

Unlike the Corrupt Channeller, this fox NPC isn’t picky; any fruit works as long as it has one of those mutations. Opening the chest grants you one of six possible rewards. Here’s a quick rundown of what you can get:

If a fruit has both Tranquil and Corrupted mutations, it counts for both categories, so you’ll need fewer fruits to get the chest. Plus, Kitsune Chests only give pets or crop seeds and no cosmetic items.

Zen Shop & Zen Channeller

Since this update builds on the 1.15.0 update, the Zen Shop and Zen Channeller are already available for you to jump in and grab items from. That said, a few new things have been added to this Chi Trader’s shop that weren’t there before. To get them, you’ll need Chi, of course, which is earned by giving Tranquil fruits to the Tanuki NPC or by wrapping up quests from the Zen Channeller.
