The Ultimate tier of Xbox Game Pass has confirmed two day one games coming in June 2025. Changes made to Xbox Game Pass mean that the vast majority of day one games are relegated to the Ultimate tier. This is no doubt disappointing, but Xbox Game Pass Ultimate does provide significant value to subscribers at least.

With an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription, subscribers are able to enjoy online multiplayer, access exclusive discounts, and play all the day one games that are released for Xbox consoles and PC. While it’s certainly disappointing that the Xbox Game Pass tier changes happened to begin with, those that play online multiplayer regularly were likely already signed up for the Ultimate tier anyway.

Microsoft makes sure that Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers get their money’s worth by regularly releasing new games on the service. Day one games are added all the time, with the critically-acclaimed Blue Prince joining Game Pass recently and Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 coming in the near future. Now, thanks to the Triple-I Initiative Showcase, Game Pass subscribers know of two other day one games that will be added soon. It’s been announced that The Alters will be coming to Xbox Game Pass on the day of its release, June 13, while Rematch will be added to the Game Pass library on June 19.

The Alters is a unique survival game where players use clones to explore a dangerous planet and gather resources. Rematch, meanwhile, is the next game from the developer of Sifu. It’s a multiplayer soccer game with a focus on arcade-y action. Considering how well Sifu was received, chances are good that Rematch will be a hit as well. Both games look like they have a lot of promise, and Xbox Game Pass subscribers will be able to find out for themselves come June 2025.

The Alters and Rematch are the only two day one games confirmed for Xbox Game Pass in June 2025 so far, but more will undoubtedly be announced. In fact, it’s highly likely that a bunch more Game Pass games will be revealed at the Xbox Games Showcase on June 8, so fans should definitely be sure to tune in.

While Xbox Game Pass subscribers wait for the Games Showcase to roll around, they can check out the new additions to the service. There are still more games left to be added to Game Pass in April, plus there are a batch of day one Game Pass games coming in May as well, including the highly-anticipated Doom: The Dark Ages.
